Choreographer Farah Khan has choreographed late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's last-ever song on the silver screen in his posthumous release Dil Bechara. The title track of the 2020 movie Dil Bechara featuring late actor Sushant will release soon. Widely regarded as one of the finest choreographers in the Hindi film industry, Farah has choreographed more than a hundred songs in over 80 Hindi films.
For the celebrated choreographer, it was the first time that she got a chance to work with Sushant in the 2020 release. At a time when the trailer of Sushant's much-anticipated movie Dil Bechara received an overwhelming response, Farah has opened up about the title track of the romantic drama which will record Sushant's last on-screen appearance as a lead actor.
Farah, who has won six Filmfare Awards for Best Choreography and a National Film Award, spoke at length about working with the late actor for the title track of the movie. Talking about the song, Farah explained how the one-shot song was completed in half a day by Sushant. The 55-year-old said that the song is particularly close to her because it was the first time she choreographed the late actor.
"We were friends for a long time but never worked together. I had also promised Mukesh Chhabra that when he makes his directorial debut I would do a song for him. I wanted the song to be done as a one-shot song because I knew Sushant would be able to do it perfectly because I remembered Sushant had once come to a reality dance show that I was judging as a celebrity guest and that's the only time the celebrity guest danced better than the contestants on that show," Farah said.
Farah recalled that Sushant wanted food from her house after wrapping up the shoot for the song in half a day. The ace choreographer rewarded her with home food as the actor had ‘nailed’ the song ‘perfectly’."I see the song and all I can see is how alive, how happy he looks in it..and this song is always going to be very special for me,” she added.
Regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in the Hindi industry, Sushant was only 34 when the Bollywood actor died by suicide at his Bandra residence on June 14. Composed by the legendary AR Rahman, Dil Bechara's title track is the last ever song that has been picturized on Sushant. Directed by Mukesh Chhabra, the movie is scheduled for an OTT release on July 24.
