Whether nepotism existed in the entertainment industry or not, but post Sushant Singh Rajput's sudden demise by suicide, the debate on the topic has surely gained momentum. People including celebs are coming in open to talk about the same and sharing their take on it. The recent one to join is Sushmita Sen, who recently made her comeback with web series Aarya. Sushmita not just talked about nepotism but also raised a question. She also talked about the issue of outsiders finding a place for themselves in the industry.

While interacting with PTI, Sushmita said that competition between insiders and outsiders is not new and but what’s important is that it should be a 'fair game for everyone'.

Talking about nepotism, Sushmita was quoted as saying, "There has been a discussion about it all over the media and everywhere at this moment. But, we all have been enduring it, it is not new. Is this something that we have just realised? That competitiveness - or now everybody says this word 'nepotism' - is a truth you have known for as long as the industry has existed. With awareness, social and digital space, it has increased thousands of folds."

Sushmita also made a point that when a crisis hits, one shouldn't pinpoint fingers at each other. She stated that people shouldn't be destructive or envious of other people’s success be it any profession.

Sushmita also advised that nepotism should not just be a hashtag and if it needs to change, then all of us need to take responsibility, not just one person.

The sudden demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput has given the voice to celebs to talk about their struggles and how they found it difficult to make their place in the entertainment industry. Several celebs including Kangana Ranaut and Abhay Deol have opened up about the existence of nepotism in the industry. Recently, actor Manoj Bajpayee also joined the debate and shared how 'the industry celebrates mediocrity and ignores those that are actually talented'.

Manoj stated that the world is not fair. The actor also stated that he has been saying this for 20 years that the industry celebrates 'mediocrity'. While talking to WION, Manoj said, "When we see talent, we immediately want to ignore or push it away. This is the value system of ours which is so deplorable. I have said it before that this industry has wasted talent; so much that in any other country those talents who have not been given their due here, would have been known as the best actors of the world. But we don’t care."

Manoj further revealed that he is not blaming someone as he himself is a part of the industry. The actor stated that he has shared the same in his previous interviews as well that the industry needs to look inward and rectify the issue. "Rectify, or you will keep getting flak for it, cursed for it, and will keep on losing the respect of the common people," added Manoj.

Manoj also stated that he survived in the industry because he is thick-skinned and ‘the son of a different mother’. He also talked about the small scale films and said that they are not mentioned properly and if they start to do well, they are immediately pulled down. Post Sushant's demise, Manoj has shared his disbelief hearing the sad news.

On the work front, the actor was last seen in web series Mrs Serial Killer alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Mohit Raina.

Divya Khosla Kumar attacks Sonu Nigam for all his allegations against her husband Bhushan Kumar, check the video

Bhushan Kumar’s wife and actor-director Divya Khosla Kumar has responded to Sonu Nigam’s allegations against her husband with an angry video. She has accused the singer of running a smear PR campaign against the T-Series chairman.

Divya, in the nearly 11-minute long video, says that T-Series has given chance to thousands of outsiders over the years, which include music directors, singers, lyricists, actors and directors. She adds that in her directorial debut, Yaariyan (2014), she gave chance to 10 newcomers, four of whom have become big names in the industry.

Sonu, in one of his videos, had accused Bhushan of being the ‘music mafia’ of the industry and harassing music professionals. To this, Divya asks Sonu as to how many people has he given chance to. Lambasting Sonu, she says that it is easy to take refuge in social media and make allegations.

She then reminds Sonu of the time when the singer allegedly sang for Rs 5 at a Ramleela in Delhi and was spotted by Bhushan’s father and T-Series founder Gulshan Kumar. She stresses how Gulshan played an instrumental role in the making of who Sonu Nigam is today. She also brings her cook Sheru into the frame to strengthen her claims.

Divya alleges that after Gulshan Kumar’s tragic killing in 1997, Sonu had gone to a rival music company to safeguard his career. She says that it was the time when Sonu had obliged Bhushan by doing the album Deewana for him but is now reminding him of the favour.

Sonu had named model-actress Marina Kuwar – who had accused Bhushan of sexual harassment during India’s #MeToo movement – in his video. The crooner had threatened Bhushan of uploading a video that he claims to be in possession of. Divya says that singer is free to upload the video but it should be backed by proof. She says that Marina’s case was one of the many blackmailing cases they faced during the movement, which she says, was misused by many.
