Irrfan Khan's son Babil's views on nepotism will surely win your heart

We began this year and decade with a very optimistic outlook, hoping and believing that we're going to give it ours all by making the most of it. But six months later, we're sitting indoors, hoping for the world to go back to normal. Apart from the coronavirus outbreak across the globe, the world has lost some of the most notable actors including Irrfan Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput. Irrfan passed away on April 29 after suffering from colon infection. Sushant passed away on June 14 by suicide.

Sushant's demise has now sparked the nepotism debate with fans doing their best to serve him justice in any possible way. They have been urging netizens to unfollow Karan Johar, star kids, and the 'nepotism gang' on social media as part of the boycott nepotism protest.

During the protest, a fan went on to drop a comment on Irrfan's son, Babil's Instagram post. The user asked Babil to unfollow star kids and 'raise a voice against nepotism in the 'Bollywood industry.' Instead of just ignoring the comment, Babil went on to reply with the composure that is definitely going to remind you of his father.

Babil went on to say, "Bhai toh meri yeh hi ummeed rahegi ki mein aplni mehnat aur performance se aapka dil itna khush kar doon ki aapko yeh lage hi na ki mere journey mein koi unfairness hui hai."

He further added, "brother, do you understand the pressures and expectations of being the son of someone who changed the concept of acting in Indian cinema? I understand your frustration against nepotism, but there are two sides to every coin."

Check out the full post here:

On learning about Sushant's suicide, Babil had shared a throwback pic of the actor and wrote, "WTF is happening? I can’t find the words :’,(/. Man, if you feel clear signs, don’t go searching for a reason, please go to the doctor instead."

On another post, Babil was quizzed on whether he plans to make his debut in Bollywood to which he said, "hopefully I will go where my wishes take me. Actor, musician, director, producer and something to do with physics. There are my aspirations."

How Bollywood plays a big role to kill Sushant Singh Rajput – Some shocking and  lesser known facts

The real reason behind Sushant Singh Rajput's ban from Bollywood

•        Yash Raj Films have a contract of 3 films with the Outsiders.

•        Let's say for instance take the case of Anushka Sharma. Her first 3 films were - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Badmaash Company and Band Baja Baarat with YRF.

•        Until the contract is over, the actor cannot sign any other film of any other banner.

•        If undone, the actor will be banned from the production house.

•        Sushant was launched in the Mumbai Film Industry by UTV Motion Pictures Production Company with Kai Po Che!

•        He then went on to sign the contract with YRF for 3 Films.

•        Initially, the contract consisted of 3 films which were Shuddh Desi Romance, Paani, and Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!

https://qphs.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-c77296e667fa2aa02e539b539d2e774d

•      Paani was shelved because it is based on a social issue of Water Scarcity and producers didn't felt that Sushant could pull off such a big project. Now, Shekhar Kapur himself was producing the project and the film was going on floors later till a year or early next year.

•      Sushant went into depression as he prepared a year for that role.

•      To consolidate, Aditya Chopra replaced Paani with Befikre.

•      Sushant didn't like the script and rejected the offer. This miffed Aditya Chopra.

•      Sushant was also offered Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela meanwhile, but due to the contract, he had to put down that offer as well.

•      Sushant broke the contract with YRF.

•      After Befikre was released, Sushant was asked in the interview whether he was the first choice for the project. Sushant neglected the comment and went on to say that even if he was offered the project, he would have rejected it.

•      This led to a heated argument between Aditya Chopra and Sushant Singh Rajput.

•      Karan Johar intervened and took Aditya Chopra's side.

•      As a result, Sushant was banned from all the major Production Houses.

https://qphs.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-8a76f7b29666f6678b47d211226f3493

  • Drive was initially a theatrical release. Karan Johar didn't like the VFX and many other segments of the film and asked the makers to change them. Eventually, he decided to launch this movie on Digital Platform Netflix.

https://qphs.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-06704ddc086c9d2cc1845126cf0a9f5f

  • There is also a big role of Salman Khan in banning Sushant from all the major Production Houses. I will discuss it in my next answer.

Nepotism and Insiders Lobby neglected him and never gave him the acceptance, respect, and recognition that he deserved and needed.

We never really deserved you, Sir. We really never did.

On social media, mental health awareness has become a topic of debate and people are posting about the importance of mental wellness. Several celebs have also been taking to micro-blogging sites to talk about mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently spoke about mental wellness in an interview while also talking about his struggling days. The actor even shared that due to lack of money and work, he went into depression once but he successfully came out of it.

While talking about his struggling days, he told Hindustan Times, "I have always had mazdoor-like hardworking, fighting spirit. I don't think that I am bigger than them. I had the same intensions as theirs. I didn't dream of becoming a star. My only intension was to survive and earn for the next meal. It continued for 10 years. I did odd jobs and walked to my friend's house for food.  There were difficult times but we were happy even then. But ya, I did feel depressed at times because of lack of work. Because of which I used to stay out all day to see the world because I didn't know how many days will I survive," he said.

He also spoke about the lockdown and how he has been keeping up. The Sacred Games actor shared that he felt depressed at the beginning of lockdown and felt as if it was a dream. Shekhar Kapur recalls why producers of 'Paani' shelved the project

Whenever we saw Sushant Singh Rajput, he was always full of life, and positivity, but little did we know that he was struggling and would one day end up his life just like that. On June 14, the actor died by suicide and was found hanging from the ceiling fan at his Bandra residence by his house help. The actor's demise has raised several questions and one among them was he allegedly being boycotted by several producers. Recently, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur went live with actor Manoj Bajpayee and talked about Sushant and their shelved film Paani.

Shekhar and Sushant were to work together in Yash Raj Films Paani. During the live session, Shekhar revealed how Sushant was excited about the project. Shekhar also stated that whenever he had a meeting with the producers and the team, Sushant would attend the same as he was eager to work with him and on the film.

However, the project was shelved, and as per Shekhar both him and Sushant had cried their hearts out after hearing the news. Recalling the reason behind the same, the filmmaker said, "Paani, producers ne kaha, ‘Hum nahi banayenge Sushant ke saath. Paani nahi banegi.’ Kuch aur film koshish karke bana leta, woh nahi kiya. Main bahar chale gaya Hindustan se. Gussa, naraaz ho gaya." (The producers said, ‘We will not make Paani with Sushant. Paani will not be made.’ I should have tried to make another film with him, which I didn’t. I left India as I was angry and upset)."

Check out the complete live session here:

Shekhar was all praise for the late actor and said that Sushant was fully immersed in the character and the film Paani and would even call him at around 2 or 3 at night to discuss small details and would even visit him for discussion on the project.

Shekhar revealed that meeting Sushant for the first time was like 'meeting a child.'

Recently, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey urged judicial actions to be taken against producers who boycotted Sushant under 'abetment to suicide'.

CHECK : Sushant Singh Rajput shared this 'last message' before his death on twitter

In the aftermath of Sushant Singh Rajput's tragic death, numerous posts on social media about the late actor's 'last message' are doing the rounds. According to the viral posts online, Sushant talked about his declining mental health before he took the extreme step on June 14. In the wake of the actor's demise, a news channel reportedly carried out a story based on the viral social media posts.

“I'm ending all this for good. Going far yet so close to you people. Maybe after this people try to communicate with others rather than holding onto the thoughts. See ya at the other side. GoodBye (sic),” one of the viral tweets read. However, the viral post purportedly from Sushant's official social media account is fake. Yes, Sushant didn't take to Twitter to share a cryptic tweet and neither did the late actor posted a 'late message' before dying by suicide on Sunday, June 14.

Taking cognizance of the viral tweet, which suggests the aforementioned baseless rumours, it has been learned that the screenshots shared on social media are fake. Different fonts were used in the dateline, user name, and text of the tweet.

The date mentioned in the tweet (14 jun 20) is also not in the ideal format. A tweet viewed from the desktop comes with a dateline as Jun 12, 2020. On Tweetdeck, it is read as 12 Jun 2020 and on mobile applications, the same tweet will be seen as 12 Jun 20.

After Sushant Singh Rajput's Funeral, Vivek Oberoi writes an emotional note to bollywood

"I have been through my own journey of pain, it can be very dark and lonely," wrote Vivek Oberoi

Bollywood Actor Vivek Oberoi, one of the handful of film fraternity members who attended Sushant Singh Rajput's funeral on Monday, took the opportunity for some plain-speaking directed at his colleagues. In a note that he shared on his Instagram account, Mr Oberoi called on Bollywood to "b***h less and care more, less power play and more grace and large-heartedness."

His words echo those of a small but powerful chorus of industry voices that have been raised against what has been variously described as "the Bollywood Privilege club" and "gatekeepers of Bollywood" - the camps and cliques that the film industry is notorious for and by which power is wielded by a select and elite group of insiders. "This needs to truly become a family, a place where talent is nurtured and not crushed," Vivek Oberoi wrote.

Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead at home in Mumbai on Sunday, allegedly felt shut out of Bollywood's inner circles despite his obvious talent and several screen successes. Vivek Oberoi never worked with Sushant Rajput but appears to have felt some kinship with him. And so he attended his funeral. In his note, Oberoi wrote, "I've been through my own journey of pain, it can be very dark and lonely."

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide, police say. He was 34. In his note, Vivek Oberoi wrote, "When I saw his father today, having to light the fire at the cremation, the pain in his eyes was unbearable. When I heard his sister weeping, begging him to come back, I can't express how deeply tragic it felt."

Vivek Oberoi has been trending on Twitter for two days straight now. Social media has called out certain members of the film fraternity for sharing seemingly grief-stricken tributes to Sushant Singh Rajput while having been less than pleasant to him when alive; filmmaker Karan Johar and actress Alia Bhatt have been singled out for criticism for having spoken dismissively about Mr Rajput on Koffee With Karan, onto which the actor was never invited.

Vivek Oberoi's name cropped up in connection to Salman Khan who also shared a post after Sushant Singh Rajput's death and has been accused by social media of hypocrisy - Mr Khan, one of Bollywood's most powerful stars, destroyed Vivek Oberoi's career, Twitter alleges. In 2003, Mr Oberoi called a press conference alleging that Salman Khan made threatening phone calls to him. Vivek Oberoi was then an up-and-coming star, with Company, Saathiya and Yuva behind him. In the next few years, he was cast in notable projects such as Omkara, Krrish 3 and Shootout At Lokhandwala; however, Mr Oberoi has mostly been relegated to smaller films in the recent years - his last Hindi film was a biopic of PM Narendra Modi in which he played the lead.

The word "hypocrisy" was used by actor Nikhil Dwivedi in a blistering attack on the film industry. Bollywood has also been strongly called out by director Anubhav Sinha and actor Ranvir Shorey.

The pictures from Sushant Singh Rajput's funeral proved the point that Vivek Oberoi, Ranvir Shorey and others have made - not one of the many A-listers who shared tributes on Social media to Mr Rajput attended; apart from Mr Oberoi, the handful of other fraternity members who did attend included Sushant Singh Rajput's co-stars Kriti Sanon, Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma, and director Abhishek Kapoor who cast him in his debut film Kai Po Che! But no big star or Producer attended the funeral who so called gave sympathy on Twitter and Instagram.

Sushant Singh Rajput shot to fame with Balaji Telefilms' TV soap Pavitra Rishta. His body of work includes films such as Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Sonchiriya, Raabta and Kedarnath. His last movies were Chhichhore and the Netflix film Drive.
